Can I work while studying?
International students with a valid study permit can work while studying in Canada. You must get a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and have already commenced your studies. To work on campus, students must be full-time post-secondary students enrolled at a public school, a private school legally authorized to confer degrees, or a private college-level school in Quebec that is partially funded by government grants. There is no limit to the number of hours students can work on campus. Suppose students wish to work off campus while studying in a Canadian college. In that case, they must be full-time students enrolled in a post-secondary program that is at least six months long and leads to a degree, diploma, or certificate. Moreover, students can only work off campus for up to 20 hours per week.
